Music

The study of music contributes to the quality of every student’s life. Students learn to express themselves creatively in the music classes offered throughout their kindergarten, first, and second grade experiences. Students actively participate in activities utilizing singing, playing instruments, dance, and drama. The development of skills in analysis, notation, evaluation and synthesis enable our students to recognize and pursue excellence in their musical experiences as well as developing increased understanding and environmental enrichment. All-school shows during the winter and spring season serve to showcase and enhance students’ musical skills and talents as well as provide opportunities for parental and community sharing. Music is an integral part of human history. The ability to listen with understanding is essential for students to develop a broad cultural and historical perspective. Students learn to appreciate other cultures through an appreciation of their music.
